We're back! The return of the Freedom Harvest Challenge.
Post what you harvested from your garden/farm in January of 2010
Tally Guidelines
Any "poundage" grown by you on your property, patio, window sill or community plot including fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts that goes toward feeding yourself, animals and community.
Honey, dairy, eggs and meat can be tallied also but will not be counted in the 1 million "pound" tally but listed separately as food produce.
Let's get growing!

Oops, thought this was the end of year tally.... So I am updating my post.
January totals:
2lbs kale
2lbs parsnips
1lbs leeks
.25lbs green onions
5.25lbs total (was a bit too overwhelmed this fall to get my winter garden in on time, next winter will hopefully yeild more!)

My January total was 27 pounds of produce:
tatsoi, lemons, cilantro, limes, carrots, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, peppers, mizuna, radishes, kale, and arugula.
Starting the year off right! Better plant choices for us so we don't have that glut of cooking greens we had last year, but just have a nice variety of fresh things to choose from. Looking forward to my sugar snap peas coming in...soon, very soon....
Dug out a new bed for potatoes this weekend, and I'm looking forward to harvesting THAT in a few months. Fresh new ground for the expanding garden - I might just fill it up this year!
Three cheers for the Freedom Harvest Challenge!
