We have a swath of native tallgrass prairie plants going the length of our back yard that we call our "prairie." The swath is about 15 feet wide in the back of our yard, and gradually narrows to about 3 feet as it gets closer to our house. We started this "prairie" in two stages, with seed mixes. So in some ways it really does resemble a tiny wild prairie.
